NO KINGS: PAUL REVERE RESISTS
A CELEBRATION OF PATRIOTIC REFUSAL
Spring, 2026
Please join Writers for Democratic Action this spring for rolling readings of our Democracy Theater Project play, No Kings: Paul Revere Resists. This easily mounted, updated script is especially geared to No Kings Day on March 28th and to the anniversary of Lexington-Concord on April 19th. We invite you to host your own reading anytime and any place—around your table, at your local indie bookstore, library, or coffee shop, wherever your community likes to gather. We will be reading across America, on porches, in theaters, schools, parks, places of worship, and living rooms. All you need are five readers, our free and open source script (BELOW!) and a desire to come together to talk—and support one another in resisting.

Note To Producers: This one-act play is easily mounted as a staged reading, five PLAYERS with scripts at music stands or some such. The venue can be a theater, a library, a school room, a bar, a living room, a place of worship – any place folks can gather. The reading should be followed by audience discussion, taking up the critical question of rescuing our democracy. The play is open-source, entirely free of charge. Our only request is that producers let us know of their reading, date, time and type of venue. We will, in response, supply templates for a poster and press release. The play was written for WDA by Rachel DeWoskin, Wesley Savick & James Carroll. Contact us via email at: wdapresentsprr@gmail.com.
